Leipzig is located in the heart of Europe and is extremely easy to reach by plane, train, and car. The city of Leipzig is just a one-hour flight from Frankfurt/M. or Munich. The tram will then take you from the airport to the city centre in 14 minutes. The Leipzig / Halle International Airport is also served by direct flights.

The Leipzig Hauptbahnhof main train station is located in the city centre. It is the largest station in Europe in terms of area and a major transport hub in Germany. Frankfurt/M. is 3 hours and 6 minutes away by train, while Berlin is 1 hour and 15 minutes away. You can get to Dresden in 1 hour and 6 minutes and Prague in 4 hours. The newly built high-speed line to Munich will be dedicated at the end of 2017. The journey will then take 3 hours and 15 minutes.

Leipzig is also very easy to get to by car. The A9, A14, and A38 motorways lead to Leipzig. Multi-storey car parks and underground car parks are available in the city centre and there is also a Park & ​​Ride service.

But the bike is also an important means of transport in our city. Either bring your own bike or hire one at the numerous rental stations in and around Leipzig.
